Abstract
Children with Special Needs (ABK) are children who require special treatment due to
developmental disorders and child disorders. Children with emotional and behavioral disorders as well as
intellectual disorders require longer treatment. The city of Surabaya is a metropolitan city that has quite a
number of children with special needs, namely in 2013 it reached 813 people and increased in 2014 as many
as 907 people, while in 2015 it decreased but not significantly to 904 people. There is no place that can be a
facility for ABK, starting from the land, security and design comfort, as well as the proper function of space
for the ABK themselves. Therapy and education are one way to deal with children with special needs. The
method used is descriptive through primary, secondary and comparative studies which are then analyzed
further. So that the expected result in this research is a healing environment as a study for an education
center for children with special needs. Where the environment can be a separate therapy for Children with
Special Needs.
