Abstract
Choirs began to be formed and known since around 3000 years ago and were introduced by the Greeks and spread throughout the world. A choir is a group of people who sing and able to produce a musical ensemble. The choir really needs members who have high loyalty to the group, in order to maintain the perfection of the required results. The researcher conducted research on choir members in the central part of Surabaya which focused on 3 (three) choir organizations, which are Cantare dal Cuore, Benedicamus Chante, and Saint Vincent Choir. Those three choirs have experienced a decrease in the number of their members in the last 3 (three) years. This research used quantitative method. Quantitative research is a research based on the positivist philosophy of examining a population using research indicators. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling and also the questions from questionnaire which were distributed to 114 respondents who were the members of Cantare dal Cuore, Benedicamus Chante, and Saint Vincent Choir in 2020. This research was conducted using validity test, reliability test, descriptive test, classic assumption test (normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test), multiple linear regression test, determinant coefficient, and t test. The t test in this study resulted the organizational communication variables (X1) = 1.994 > 1.98177 with a significant level of 0.049 < 0.050, which means that organizational communication has a significant effect on the loyalty of the choir members in Central Surabaya, the service quality variable (X2) = 4.026 > 1.98177 with a significant level of 0.000 < 0.050, which means that service quality has a significant effect on the loyalty of choir members in Central Surabaya, the motivation variable (X3) = 1.718 < 1.98177 with a significant level of 0.089 > 0.050, which means that motivation has no significant effect towards the loyalty of the choir members in Central Surabaya. The results of this study can be concluded that organizational communication and service quality have an effect on the loyalty of choir members in Central Surabaya, while motivation does not affect the loyalty of choir members in Central Surabaya.
