Abstract

Internal control is a way to direct, monitor, and measure resource in PT Indomarco Prismatama especially in merchandise inventory. It's very important for preventing and detecting fraud the company's assets and protect the organizational resources of the company. PT Indomarco Prismatama have been using perpetual inventories method and inventory valuation method under FIFO. This research was a descriptive study and used case study design. This aims of study are to analyze whether the merchandise management activities at the company has been optimal or not. The conclusion was the management of the company's activities have been implemented but not optimal. This was evidenced by the difference between the results of the report merchandise inventory by the number of physical merchandise. The solution is the division chief should give more attention to its employees by job evaluation twice a week. It was well done for the smooth operation of the company
