Abstract

Construction development in Indonesia is growing so fast, that environmentally friendly materials are needed. Utilization of materials originating from waste can function to maintain environmental sustainability. The ceiling is a ceiling covering in a building that is widely used in residential buildings and commercial buildings. One of the causes of environmental problems is excessive industrial waste that can pollute the environment. To be able to reduce and have a positive impact on the environment, it is necessary to study how to use building material waste that is no longer suitable for use but can be used again. The method used in this study uses the experimental method, which is carried out by conducting experiments to get the appropriate results. The findings in this study provide an answer to the existence of a great potential for the use of recycled materials. The main ingredient of sawdust is used for building materials. The resulting material is a ceiling that is formed with the main ingredient of sawdust mixed and produces good bending strength so that it can be used as a ceiling in residential and commercial buildings.
