Abstract

This study aims to identify and test: 1) The influence of investment benefits on the interest of accounting students in investing in the capital market, 2) The influence of minimal investment capital on the interest of accounting students in investing in the capital market, 3) The influence of motivation on the interest of accounting students in investing in the capital market. This study used a population of students majoring in accounting at universities in Surabaya and a data sample of 101 respondents. The research approach used was a quantitative approach with survey methods and the sampling technique used is simple random sampling. Sample collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires in the form of google form links. The testing and data analysis tool used in this study was the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) statistical program version 26. The results showed that the benefits of investment and minimal investment capital affect the interest of accounting students in investing in the capital market, because of the courses taught and the minimum investment capital set low, while motivation does not affect the interest of accounting students in investing in the capital market, because of motivation or support from an unsupportive environment.
