Abstract

The growth of the fashion industry has an impact on the garment and textile industry. The existence of the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 64 of 2017 and the COVID-19 pandemic has made many garment and textile sub-sector companies experience financial distress. This study aims to determine the effect of liquidity as proxied by the current ratio, profitability as proxied by return on assets, leverage as proxied by debt to asset ratio, activity proxied by total asset turnover, and sales growth on the occurrence of corporate financial distress. The population in this study are garment and textile sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the observation period, 2018-2020. Sampling in this study used purposive sampling, namely as many as 13 companies in the garment and textile sector. This research method uses logistic regression analysis with SPSS 24 program. The results of this study indicate that the current ratio has an effect because it has a sig value. 0.037 which is smaller than 0.05 Return on assets has no effect because it has a sig value. 0.527 which is greater than 0.05 Debt to asset ratio has no effect because it has a sig value. 0.102 which is greater than 0.05 Total asset turnover has an effect because it has a sig value. 0.029 which is smaller than 0.05 Sales growth has no effect because it has a sig value. 0.928 which is greater than 0.05
