Abstract

The main role of banks is to raise funds from the community then the funds will be channeled back to the community in the form of credit. Lending is one form of banking sector participation in improving the economic growth of a country. Adequate control can be created when properly supported by various components. There are many ways that can be taken to improve the effectiveness of credit control especially when the crediting process to the debtor. This study aims to explain the process of lending conducted by Bank in Surabaya and an explanation of effective credit control. Credit control performed by Bank has fulfilled general lending procedures such as pre-credit procedures,credit and post-credit processes where each stage has contained good control activities. In conducting the research, the authors make observations, interviews and analysis of each activities and processes at the stages of credit provision in the Bank. In the research obtained the result that the control of credit from the Bank has been well implemented. However, the results of research that still needs improvement and an increase in credit control in order to achieve the purpose of the bank to support the implementation of national development in order to improve equity and economic growth as well as the destination bank for the benefit of interest income from loans.
